Safe Work Australia’s latest report on the Australian Workers’ Compensation Claims has highlighted the occupations, industries and common injuries statistics during 2018-19.
Key findings for serious claims* include:
Top Occupation: Labourers
Top Industry: Agriculture, forestry and fishing.
Top Common injury/type: traumatic joint/ligament and muscle/tendon injuries (39% of all serious claims)
*Serious claims are based off per million hours worked. A serious claim is a workers’ compensation involving five days or more time off work.
